There are plenty of personal trainers and fitness instructors out there – so why RedAlert PT? When I first started working at Fitness First, they asked me to write my ‘pitch’ – to help people decide who the right personal trainer was for them. This is what I wrote:
“Fitness and Health is a journey, and joining the gym is just the beginning. Many fall by the wayside, discouraged by uncertain progress, or confused by all the options.
Working with a PT can help you reach your goals more quickly and efficiently. General health improvements, preparing for a big event or holiday, your first triathlon; whatever your aim, Personal training can help you gain faster results.
What I love is helping others to achieve their fitness goals. I use the wide range of skills and experience that I’ve gained from 2 decades in the Healthcare Profession, as a British Champion kick-boxer and GB age group triathlete.
Together we will set realistic objectives and build you a unique tailored programme. I will help you achieve the results YOU want.”

So that’s the corporate speak bit – there are plenty of other reasons too!
I’ve come to personal training somewhat later in life than many others – I know what it’s like trying to find that elusive work/life balance that includes time to exercise, eat well and get all the other ‘stuff’ done.
I’m not a scary or shouty personal trainer! I’ll definitely push you but in a way that works – that involves getting to know you, what makes you tick and working to achieve your goals, not mine.
Flexibility – I can come to you, you can come and train at my private RedAlert PT studio on a 1:1 basis or book a session with me at Fitness First in St Albans. Want to train before you go to work? That’s fine. Equally, if you want a session within the school day, after work or in your lunch break – just get in touch.
I am a huge fan of exercising outdoors! Whether it’s encouraging you to take on your first Park Run, making the most of one of the many woodland areas in and around St Albans or open water swimming in preparation for a triathlon, I think outdoor exercise is one of the best forms there is.
For some clients who come to RedAlert PT to regain their fitness (perhaps after having children or an illness or accident), a walk in the woods is a brilliant start to them achieving their goals. By gradually building up distance and speed they build up stamina, strength and cardio vascular fitness.
