About me: I was a national synchronised swimmer at the age of 12-16 and then went on to be selected to go to England Synchronised Swimming trials. I retired from synchronised swimming at 16 due to injury and thought I’d give masters swimming a go. I dipped in and out of masters swimming from 16 till last year when I decided to go back and train properly. During Covid my friend suggested we go and swim in a lake and I fell in love with open water swimming. Last year I returned to competing but decided to do it in the open water instead of pool swimming, I became a competitive marathon swimmer.
Following this I needed another challenge (to fuel the ADHD) and I contacted Allie and asked her to help me qualify for GB Age groups at European level. Being me, I had left it too late but Allie trained me up and within 11 weeks I had qualified with less than 3 months of running training. Since then I have had Allie train me for a marathon, the GB Age group competition and now strengthening ready for my Channel swim attempt.
Previous experience: Synchronised swimming
Masters level swimming
Marathon distance open water swimming
Current goals:
